This place is an absolute nightmare. I transferred here from Baptist because everything is 100% covered with my UofL insurance but if I weren't due any minute, I would transfer back to the helpful and hospitable Baptist East. The entire staff is rude. The from desk women make it clear they would rather be anywhere else. One woman who wears glasses pretends to be on the computer as you wait on her to help you but you can see through her glasses reflection that she is staring at a blank home screen for a good two minutes. The only helpful employee I dealt with is the woman who does blood work, she is the only positive person in the building. My doctor left a voicemail about how I needed a second glucose test, I called back and spoke with my nurse who said she would call me back. I waited a week with no call back, but every time I called the front desk to be transferred to the nurse, I was on hold a minimum of 40 minutes and then sent straight to voicemail every time. When I could finally make a follow up appointment, they told me they were booked for another two and a half weeks and I was going to be seeing a different doctor. If you want a positive, personable experience with your pregnancy, please go literally anywhere else. I should have listened to everyone's warning of UofL, but I didn't.
There are pros and cons to this office. I had a very rare complication during pregnancy, and they knew exactly what it was and how it should be treated based on the newest recommendations. They are really up on latest research. I had an appointment here every week, including ultrasound. Yes, you'll see different doctors, but you never know who will be there when you give birth. I felt that they were all on same page about my birth plan, and they were able to use other interventions that prevented a c section.
A HUGE drawback to this office is that they do not really have after hours number, it's impossible to get a call back if you leave message (though might be better with new hires), and takes forever to get GYN related appointments. But, if you're pregnant and do need urgent care, you'll get great care at L&D triage at the hospital.
Vindictive front desk staff. Untrained in standard patient care and probably rife with HIPAA violations. With the level of uncaring and apparent lack of training it would not be surprising to me if they sold the patients' information to third parties. Claimed it would take 30 days to forward records! Who trained these people anyway? This place needs to be investigated and most of the staff fired or prosecuted. You cannot treat patients like this.
So unprofessional. The front desk people are rude, the lab techs are uncaring, the bathroom is a mess, the doctors are unprofessional. They don't know what they doing. Just looking for money. I wouldn't go there again or recommend it to my worst enemy. I transferred after 3 visits.
I have seen Dr. Hamm for about 8 years and she is just wonderful! A few years ago I felt the staff and nurses were kind of standoffish and rude on phone calls, but the past year the new staff and nurses have been great. My wait time is never long and I have always gotten results and appointments in a timely manner.
