On the plus side the drivers have been friendly. By the time we get out if here the company is going to have to find us different drivers because the ones we have now will be close to the 15 hours they are allowed to work before reaching our destination.
My mom love Toby Tours. She goes on at least one trip a year. She's now getting ready to use the gift certificate I got her last Christmas and go on a day Christmas trip. She's really getting excited. She says they are the best hosts.
I used to love traveling with Toby Tours until last May 2013. I paid extra for a shuttle van to come to my town to transport me to Indiana to meet up with the coach. Bonnie is a good driver and very helpful and friendly. But, on the return trip the van that was brought had no steps and no stool was provided. I attempted to board twice and fell both times injuring both knees. The driver, Paul, lied and told Toby Tours I did not fall but sat down hard. An incident report was never completed. I have contacted Toby Tours several times and they seem to avoiding me. I have asked for reimbursement of the money paid exta for the shuttle as it was ill-equiped and unsafe. I really thought Toby Tours cared more for their passengers safety.
As we went down the road the bus had tworked dash lights come on. When we arrived near Birmingham one of the busses died, and low and behold there had not been a bus dispatched. The drivers told us the manager was "trying" to get with a local bus company and/or mechanic.
Great scenery, great memories will go again
Around d 9:45 pm our bus start to act up, AC quit working, front door wouldn't close all the way. We decided to drive on and asked the driver to arrange for a replacement bus in route since they told us it'd be 4-6 hrs before they could get us a bus to Knoxville TN.
We arrived at Birmingham around 3:00 am it is now 5:20 and there is no sign of a replacement bus or mechanic. Had a bus been dispatched around 9:45 when the issue was identified we would more than likely be riding down the road.
Never used their service, but I live very close and know that they take great care of the buses and are operational daily
