Staff was friendly and food was unique and unbelievably good. Unlike any Chinese we've ever had
A friend and I took a chance on this place for dinner one weekday night and it turned out to be quite a little gem. Emery was our server and he was very attentive and the food was excellent. A lot of Asian restaurants around here seem to be heavy handed on frying foods however none of the food here seemed oily and all the ingredients seemed to be of good quality. We stopped by the bar afterwards and Alvin is an awesome bartender; the Crazy Botanist was a superb drink. We'll definitely be stopping by here again soon.
Since we always order take out, we would call but two times we could not get through because the line was busy. For about 30 minutes the line was busy. So I decided to just go down to the restaurant and tell them about the busy signal. I went to the restaurant to tell them that my boyfriend and I could not get through for about two nights in a row and what was going on. I was not going to order anything, but the lady working (I would later find out this is the owners mother) insisted that I order something and that I would get a discount. I ordered and waited. While I was waiting, a different waitress rang me up and gave me a 50% discount, which was very nice and I was very appreciative. I paid and waited for my food. So when owner's mother came back out, she somehow saw my receipt and started yelling at the waitress about how low it was. She took my credit card (without asking me), credited me the amount I already paid and gave me a 10% discount, still yelling. She then charged my credit card that amount, again without talking to me about it. I was mortified. It was beyond embarrassing.
I would definitely return.
I have not been back since, as I have never been treated with such disrespect at a restaurant where I am a customer. I submitted a survey to the owners on their website, but never heard anything back.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I had the worse experience at a restaurant I have ever had in my life. My boyfriend and I use to be regular customers, ordering take out probably around once a week. We had noticed the last three weeks there had been a decline in the food quality, but thought maybe it was going to go back up.
Went for a late night dinner. Our food was fantastic and fresh. The service was friendly and prompt. (Although, I didn't care for the fried rice that came my meal.)
Got something that wasn't necessarily on the menu but was recommended by the waiter - Szechuan shrimp, I believe. It was excellent.
