It's obviously not a swanky theater but their prices are the best and it's got great character

I love this theater. The staff is so friendly, the popcorn is delicious, and the prices are just awesome. Wishing the medical people would leave you alone. There are other properties around that would leave such a diamond alone.

Cheap admission and concessions is a plus. Unfortunately that also attracts the trashy crowd. When we first walked into the theater room we were hit with a pungent fart/barf smell. I asked a worker if there was something they could spray. Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to bring a baby to watch "It"and the baby pooped and puked everywhere. Also a group of teenage girls sat behind us and loudly talked and giggled the ENTIRE movie and took a few selfies with their flash on during the movie. I realize these issues are not the theaters fault but the inconsiderate people their cheap prices seem to draw. If we decide to return it will definitely be for a matinee.

Village 8 is a Louisville, KY icon, serving patrons with discount second-run movies for over half a century. (Well, I assume so since it's been there all my life!) They currently have Two - Dollar Tuesdays and Three - Dollar Thursdays for convenience and chances to see your favorites over and over! This theater does not have IMAX or 3-D. But the 3-D movies shown there in 2-D format still have great cinematic appeal, and this shows in the performance.

Tickets are bought outside but sometimes inside (I suspect depending on foot traffic). The inside lobby is not large, but it serves its clientele well. For popcorn, the largest container (bucket) price includes a free refill. There are a few tables to sit at and several padded benches, and the showtimes of the next movies are easily visible on a high - placed marquee. Enjoy perusing the theater posters of now - playing and upcoming movies.

We recently moved to Louisville and went on a quest to find a new movie theater we liked. Hands down this is the best one in town. It may not be the fanciest but its got the friendliest people and the best prices. I hope it stays in business for a long time

The theaters are clean, and the ushers clean up after every movie.

Turn your cell phones off or to vibrate. Don't wear your light - up shoes. The lights and sounds from these items can really distract from the movie.
