I went in the day before and came to an agreement with the owner to come in the following day with my cargo bike and also towing a friend's bike, both for servicing and minor repairs. He was aware that my bike is my only transportation and I obtained it through sacrificing not deep pockets. I am poor, $2000 is alot of money to me. Thankfully, he worked on my friend's bike first first and it was ok. Mine however was a different story. After 5 plus hours of wandering around, he said 2 or 3, he wound up slapping it together incomplete (sans pad retainer clips) so he could close. It appeared he had help, a pretty young woman, but opon observation it appeared her only function was to draw in young men to buy accessories. If you have some money to throw around you're okay there. If you are poor you will leave angry and/ or degraded. This is a man of poor character, spend your money somewhere else.
I absolutely love my new bike and couldn't be happier with the service. My Orbea LOKI 27.5+ bike is the 3rd bike I have purchased from OBB over the years and it is so much fun, it reminds me of why I love mountain biking. Mike was super cool and helpful getting me set up with the right bars, grips, etc... to really make everything fit me. Not just thinking about his profit margins, but me as a rider. I appreciate that. Not to mention, the LOKI is a beautiful and super well built machine. Orbea bikes are made in Spain, I thought that was super cool. Anyway, These guys are top notch and I definitely recommend stopping by if you need a new bike.
The owner is unique. Mostly road bikes/MTB. Has tools. The name is misleading. It should be "old bikes Belong somewhere else". Mostly new stuff which is cool.
The gentle man was very patient with me when I was asking questions about which bike I should buy. I am very happy with my purchase.
I'm updating this review. I don't know what I'm doing or I would not have needed this man's services. He has betrayed a trust. I rode 14 miles to another town ( I'm on the east coast now),and after obtaining a set of pad retainer clips, I went to you tube for a tutorial. I got the wrong clips. Tomorrow I will ride back to get the right ones. By the time this is over I will know what to do if something happens to my brakes on a trip. This is a good but hard earned lesson for me. Ask yourself this question: if this man gets irritated with you, do you want to pay him for a hard lesson instead of the repair you paid for. Anyone can be nice to someone that's nice and/or handing over a few thousand dollars. It takes good moral character and professionalism to treat a poor and/or irritating person the same. He has neither quality.
