This should be "Louisville Metro Police Department. It should be pinned to the building on the NE corner of S. 7th St. and W. Market St. I am not sure why the 633 W. Jefferson St. address was chosen, when the main entrance is on the east side of 7th north of Jefferson. An alternate and more correct address is 225 S. 7th St. The complex is not behind City Hall on Congress Alley BUT WEST of City Hall, W. Jefferson on the south side, S. 7th on the west side and Congress Alley on the north side. I worked there for 25 years in the former LPD building.
While attending the Derby yesterday I became a little overheated. Your police that were manning the traffic outposts were the best! I just needed to rest briefly while walking to the parking lot. They were kind(offering me their cold bottled water) a sun sheltered place to sit and were very professional and friendly. True Southern gentlemen.Thank you Louisville police you are a fine representation of Louisville!
In Louisville our police department is doing so many things right. The neighborhood program where police are in neighborhoods meeting people Before there are problems is excellent. And every police officer is trained in crisis intervention to help mentally ill people and their families. I feel fortunate to have this police department protecting us.
With all the negativity surrounding police today, I didn't want this good deed to go unnoticed. And I'm thankful, because I could've been seriously hurt that night. Thanks lmpd!
Thank you for protecting Louisville! Keep up the good work! I may change this review if I get a ticket or something lol Just kidding maybe!!
I'll admit, not every cop is a good cop and there are some bad eggs out there. But I'm going to share this positive experience with Louisville Metro. I was out late with an ex-boyfriend once and we were drinking. He kicked me out of his car at 2am, barefoot on the side of the road. I was drunk and crying and the police officers (who were keeping a good eye on things, assuming they saw me from the inside across the street) came out and helped me inside. They let me lay down until I could call someone to come pick me up. They were very friendly and walked me to my friends car.
