This school is a great facility. It seems generic, but as a Muslim student who attended NISL for 2 years, I have large grounds as to why I feel NISL is a great Islamic School (also lying is a sin). The teachers were amazing; had it not been for their expertise in the subjects they taught I wouldn't be as intelligent as I am now (Al-Hamdulillah for that). The curriculum - although outdated - is unbelievably advanced; older books taught later topics to students in lower grades (example: I got more in depth to human anatomy in my 5th grade year at NISL than I did in my 8th grade year at a local middle school). The best part is that for several years after transferring out of NISL I was way above the standards of the schools in my area so I was top of the class!
All in all, 4/5 really good. I mean the building is HUGE and there's a masjid attached to the school! How often do you see that?
Indeed NISL is a raw model for how islamic schools and communityes should be. My two daughters go to NISL. Their older brother used to go to public schools and having experiencing both environments I can tell that It was the right decision to put my daughters at NISL. I remember my constant prayers when my son rides on the school bus heading to his school, the constant fear on him, the pressure of his non muslim peers which hindered him from focusing well in his course of study. Now, I don't have to go through all of this with my daughters, they are relaxed being in an islamic environment, they don't feel the pressure to be like this or that, they developped a sense of being themselves and they are excelling in their school. What else can I ask for?Thank you NISL for being a great promising school.
Good private school
However no school is perfect - not even the one I'm attending now - and both have an issue that is very difficult to resolve: student conduct. When I was there, and even now, the behavior of the students was atrocious and the worst part is that disciplinary measures did very little to rectify this ordeal. Its really disheartening to see these young Muslim students act they way they do, but it can't be helped, I suppose.
NISL is the perfect place to grow islamic characters. Great environment for learning and accomplishment. Amazing and dedicated staff.
