POOR, POOR, POOR, POOR EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PODS TO A DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONVENIENTLY, THEY COULD NOT PICK UP MY EMPTY POD THAT SAT IN MY DRIVE WAY 2 DAYS EMPTY, UNTIL THE DAY THE NEXT MONTHLY PAYMENT WAS DUE, AND OF COURSE THE "SYSTEM" AUTOMATICALLY TOOK MY PAYMENT OFF MY CREDIT CARD. AND OH YES THEY WILL REIMBURSE ME THE MONTHLY FEE BUT NOT THE CHARGES THAT THE CREDIT CARD CHARGES.
We rented a container from this company. The container was being store at their facility under the Louisville. We were called by the company to let us know the container had been dropped by an employee while moving it. It was dropped 3 times. When we got there to open the container and look t the contents, I just wanted to cry. All our stuff was destroyed! There was a hole in the bottom of the container. We had an organ, piano, a love seat, a china cabinet and an antique desk, all were destroyed. It is so terribly heart wrenching when we see your life and memories in pieces. We took over 400 pictures of the items we could get to. There were some items under the container. The keyboards of the piano and organ were broken off their stands. The desk, ( a gift to my father-in-law from his father when he graduated medical school in 1940) was a very large item and it was in pieces. The company hired a couple of men to help unload the items and inspect the damage. They told us they had never seen such damage before and they are professionals. When we arrived at the site, the employee who dropped the container was very rude, and did not even apologize for dropping the container. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We estimated the damage to be over $60,000. The company made a pittance offer of $5000. We did not expect to loss our furniture and items in such a dreadful way. And for the company to have taken no responsibility for the damages. This was definitely not a normal experience. This was not normal damage nor proper handling on the part of the company.
Would I use PODS again? Abosulutely!
My experience using Pods was excellent. From the first call, to the delivery, to the pickup. Everything went great. Pods also informed me that my town required a permit for the Pods unit. I wasn't aware of this and so I was able to be sure I was in full compliance. I also found Pods to be a reasonable way for me to store my items short-term.
This place is a RIP OFF do not use pods they will leave the pod sitting in your yard and say that you didn't schedule pickup and charge u another month this place is a complete joke and I will be making a report with the better business bureau.. go rent a truck and leave it sit in your driveway for a month at least u know u won't be getting ripped off seriously think twice before u ever think about getting this joke called pod and plus the size of the pods r little anyways... well anywoo look forward to my report to the bbb pods u took the wrong persons money and your pod is still in my driveway even after it's been scheduled for pickup 2 different times and yet u all have failed to come get this junk oh well off to the bbb website bye
Overall our experience was fantastic! There are a few things I would do differently. First, I would have ordered one more PODS. Two PODS for a 2400 sq.ft. house with a three car garage was just not enough. Second, I would have used a local franchise office rather than go through the internet. Don't get me wrong, our contact person, Tom Halloran (I think that was his name) was absolutely wonderful. But sometimes it was difficult to reach him since he was in Florida and we were in California. Third, I would have researched the loaders/un-loaders a little better. The loaders in California were great! They had all the right equipment, enough workers, and knowledge, etc. The UN-LOADERS in Kentucky were two very nice guys but they showed up with a small hand-truck and that was all. And it broke half-way through the unload. We had an antique upright player piano that needed to be moved from the PODS to the basement. Thankfully, the basement was accessible from the outside and there was only one small step and a threshold to navigate. The only equipment these gentlemen had to move this monstrosity was brute strength and they did it with only minor damage to the vinyl flooring in the entrance.
