My vet, Shepherdsville Animal hospital recommended Metropolitan for after hours emergency.... went with a friend to take her dog in. Excellent staff and service. Price was not was we expected.... low compared to others.
Took my 9 pound chihuahua there at 7:40 am for his left eye that was swollen and had puss coming out of it. Was the only person in the waiting room. Didn't get back with him till 8:30 am. They took him back and weighed him and took his temp. Then said that he needed a lancing and draining of his eye which will cost 1,000$. They gave me 3 medications and said that since we didn't have the grand we needed to go to another vet and they gave me antibiotics enough for the next 2 days till i could get him into a primary vet (due to this day being the first of January) this cost a total of 170$ for them to tell me to go to another vet. So we did. We went to another vet, they took him back give him a shot, got his eye to start draining and put eye drops in for pain. Found out from them it was a puncture hole. Probably because my 75 pound dog stepped on him by accident. Then they told me that metropolitan gave me the WRONG doses of meds for my 9 pound dog. That I would be OVERDOSING my dog! After spending a hour and a half at this new vet I only paid them 73$ and my dog got way better medical attention! I would NEVER recommend metropolitan animal hospital to any fur mom or dad ever again!
Loved the care our dog Mack received. Very affordable and they cared about him as we care about him. I would recommend these guys to anyone.
We woke up early Wednesday morning and our sweet 6 year old kitty was having a hard time breathing. We took him to Metropolitan and they placed him in oxygen. They were able to do some xrays and his prognosis was not good. They tried several different medications through the day and he didn't improve. They allowed me to visit with him while he was in the oxgen and when we decided to say goodbye everyone was so kind.
I have been to them twice with my dog... once for a specialty cancer surgery and once for a chocolate overdose. Both times all the staff were caring. The surgeon and ER vet answered all of my crazy dog—Mom questions and didn’t make me feel like a pest. The quality of the services he received was fantastic. I highly recommend them!
