I love this store! I bough my children their first instruments there for Christmas and can't wait until they open them. I recommend them to everyone!
Hit or miss depending on who you get to help you. Some employees think they are stand off musical genius'and upset for you even being at the store, especially if you have questions or wanna try something out, their attitude is 'how do you not already know this you dumbo and why should I help you?' that's most people, but occasionally you get someone who's willing to work with you and give good information or products pricing etc. I'd say it's best to know what your going to get before you go there... It's not that great of a place to walk in and say, hey I'm looking for this type of sounds or what's the best way to setup up a home studio, etc. Etc. They don't want to answer those questions where they have to think, they just like to sell the product and get you the hell out of there. Good stock, a lot of nice items, and decent pricing for the most part. Some of those employees either need to be fired or need some training in people skills.
Also, when needing repair parts, a lot of other places have to order but Guitar Center tends to have what I need on the shelf.
Hey, I see the comments about big chain stores and get the whole local love stuff, but folks, you won't find a better deal on trade in gear than the Louisville Guitar Center. Very fair and very attentive. My man Jesse took care of me like a retail champion and helped me get a sweet deal.
Great place for music equipment, I have bought my last two guitars from here and I love them both. They have a wide selection of musical instruments, acoustic and electric. My future instrument purchases will probably be made here. The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part and their prices are reasonable.
Purchased a Bose L1B2 system....Scott was definitely a Wizard... put everything together... printed a missing manual.. and located a mounting bracket. Placed another special order... he called and I picked up the order.... no problems.
