Such a beautiful historic hotel. Decorated so nice for Christmas. Rooms are big for an old hotel, nice amenities. Menu in piano bar good. Hot Brown is a must. Great area to explore downtown. All walking.
We have an annual family dinner at the hotel restaurant and it's something we look forward to all year long. The service is excellent and I've never had a meal I didn't enjoy. I definitely recommend the chocolate decadence cake.
The Brown Hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Louisville, so it's not far from most of the tourist attractions the city is known for, and I noticed they do have free shuttle service from the airport and from the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass if requested. During our experience, my wife and I received very good service. The valet, receptionist, and staff at The English Grill restaurant were exceptional. My only disappointment was with the room itself. The decor felt highly dated and stuffy. Your average person can feel out of place with all of the portraits of fox hunts and horses. Beyond that, the main entry light in our room was burned out, one of the cups in the bathroom was obviously not clean, and the shower splashed water all over the floor, creating a slipping hazard. While we enjoyed our experience, it was because of the service. I've slept in much nicer rooms for a lot less of a nightly rate.
Went for the Christmas buffet. Everything was wonderful fresh and tasty. Wait staff were super friendly and helpful. I can't recommend their old fashioned enough
Great charm, successfully balancing elegance and comfort. The even piano bar is a treat unto itself. Been coming here for two years every time I travel through Louisville. I look forward to many more stays.
The corner rooms are worth the extra charge.
